PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assists the Executive Director, Procurement Services in the strategic operations of the Procurement Services Organization including oversight of Distribution Services staff, buying and managing Distribution Center inventory, District delivery services, textbook and fixed asset management, surplus property storage and disposal, and records storage and destruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification: Two years of college, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of advanced distribution operations
- Knowledge of vehicle and product tracking and communication systems
- Strong communication and personnel skills
- Knowledge of bar coding and RFID in inventory management
- Ability to train on business programs relating to purchasing and inventory
- Strong leadership skills, directing a team of administrative support and distribution operations staff.
Experience:
- Management experience required
- Five years warehouse/distribution experience
- Public school district experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provides annual evaluation of Distribution Center staff
- Coordinates effective utilization of Distribution Services’ staff
- Manages the distribution and tracking of designated fixed assets within the District, form receipt to disposition.
- Conducts periodic one-on-one staff professional development meetings as well as staff meetings
- Sets reorder quantities and reorder points on all Distribution Center inventory items
- Manages purchases of all Distribution Center inventory through cooperative purchasing programs, state contract bid pricing, and District contracts.
- Utilized best practices and continuous process improvement to provide effective and efficient warehousing, inventory and distribution services.
- Provides training opportunities to improve job performance of Distribution Services’ staff
- Supervises fixed asset storage of used classroom and office furniture, appliances, kitchen and office equipment to ensure District benefit is maximized.
- Coordinates public auctions of disposition of fixed asset inventory that is not needed
- Conducts inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Supervises distribution security and ensures proper precautions to protect inventory investment.
- Oversees the training of new District staff with input of on-line inventory requisitions.
- Updates associated information in classified handbooks annually.
- Resolves vendor issues regarding Distribution Center inventory
- Supervises staff to ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Assists in the development of bids and proposals for Distribution Center inventory items
- Presents at annual in-service for secretaries and bookkeepers regarding Distribution Center changes in schedules, new products, and services.
- Actively adds and deletes inventory items to meet the needs of schools and departments.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Procument Services.
