JOB TITTLE: Budget Clerk, High School 

 

REPORTS TO: Campus Principal

 

WAGE/HOUR STATUS:  Nonexempt  

 

PAY GRADE:  Para 5

 

 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

The HS Budget Clerk will provide support to financial functions by maintaining all campus activity and budgeted funds and ensure that fiscal practices are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Required:

  • High School Graduate or GED from an accredited institution

 Preferred:

  • One+ years job related experience

 

 
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to work well with staff and students
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Basic accounting practices
  • Must be able to pass a skills, efficiency test

 

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Maintain activity fund ledger for all organization accounts.
  • Prepare fund raising requests.
  • Process purchase orders and warehouse orders.
  • Maintain purchase orders to ensure prompt payment.
  • Collect all monies and disburse check(s) for expenditures.
  • Monitor fund balances of campus programs and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain all campus budget expenditure and reconcile accounts.
  • Maintain petty cash records.
  • Research discrepancies of financial information (purchase orders, invoices, etc) to ensure accuracy and adherence to district procedures.
  • Prepare documents to communicate information to staff, parents, students, and district personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain records required by Federal, state or local laws/regulations.
  • Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

 

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following:

Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending,  reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
