JOB TITLE: Compliance Clerk - Special Services
REPORTS TO: Compliance Coordinators of Special Services
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
PAY GRADE: Para 3
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Compliance Clerk provides clerical support to the department's administrative functions, conveys information regarding the school district’s special education services and maintains data in accordance with the current special education student management system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma from an accredited institution or GED
Preferred:
- Prior job related experience with increasing responsibility
- Two or more years of experience with public education and/or special education
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of organization, both internal and external
- Strong organizational and people skills
- Proficiency in use of computer and software to develop memos, databases, and spreadsheets
- Ability to manage and impart confidential information and student records
- Skills in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands
- Excellent organizational and presentation skill
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide visitors and callers with appropriate information regarding special education programs and services available in our district
- Order and distribute office supplies
- Provide clerical support to department supervisory staff
- Participate in staff development and department meetings as assigned
- Responsible for entering information into the special education management system for students who are new or transferring to the district and work closely with special education administration staff when additional information is requested
- Responsible for auditing information in the special education management system for accuracy
- Support filing and organizing special education documentation
- Assist new special education IEP Clerks with processes and procedures
- Provide support as needed in the absence of an IEP Clerk team member
- Attend training sessions that are provided by district personnel when requested
- Assist in departmental projects as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following:
Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. May require some lifting of no more than 10 pounds. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
